The side edges on a bucket give it all its side strength to dig and hold dirt, clay, mud and rocks without crumpling.
An 22.9 mm plate of steel runs from the cutting edge up to the top of the bucket, forming extra bucket support for cutting through the ground.
Side edges reduce bucket damage and bending while digging and carrying heavy loads.
