18" DT18 Walk Behind Dethatcher, Spring Tine Blades, Ren-O-Thin 5548731, 46906184

DT18 Walk Behind Dethatcher, Spring Tine Blades, 46906184 is designed specifically for dethatching. Featuring simple height adjustment that lets you fine-tune your dethatching depth. It’s the most productive, hassle-free way to improve lawns and boost your profitability.

Spring Tine Blades consist of a softer-touch reel that dethatches without penetrating the soil. Recommended for areas where embedded objects, like sprinkler heads, are an issue. Not recommended on fine lawns or golf course greens.

  • Ergonomic, multi-position handle -- for different operator heights and storage
  • Off-the-ground transort mode -- keeps tines off the ground when moving from job to job
  • Bubble shield -- prevents thatch from building up under the deck
  • Honda Engine
  • DT18 is the same as the Ryan branded Ren-O-Thin® Power Rake with Spring Tine Blades, 5548731

Dethatching is the  process of removing the layer of dead and decaying grass, roots, and debris matted between the soil and growing grass. A thatch layer of 1/2 inch or more prevents air, light and water from reaching the turf’s root zone.

You should dethatch in early fall before you fertilize, or in the spring after the grass has begun to green.
