Procedure:
The head gasket thickness needs to be correct. Typically there are three thicknesses available and they have a visual identifier (1, 2, or 3 holes).
The head gasket thickness is chosen by measuring piston protrusion. Each piston needs to be measured at top dead center.
Measure the piston at 2 points, making sure you are not measuring in the valve relief areas, and average the readings.
Once done, average all 4 piston numbers and choose gasket from the table.
